SMILE\-FX® / Molar Distalization Guide

# Care, responsibility and the source

This SMILE\-FX® guide helps you understand a named upper\-molar movement in a supplied proposal\. Its purpose is clearer reading of that proposal; an orthodontic assessment explains an individual's actual findings and options\.

## Publisher and responsibility

The publisher is SMILE\-FX® Orthodontic & Clear Aligner Studio in Miramar\. Dr\. Tracy Miao Liang is the clinical director\. No named clinician review of this educational guide is claimed\.

The explanation uses selected author narrative from a dated study and a supplied description\. The researchers are the cited article's authors, not reviewers of this practice or guide\. The full reference, licence and adaptation details follow the care information\.

## Care with the responsible orthodontist

These confirmed practice capabilities describe the broader care model\. The individual's written proposal and clinical directions establish the actual arrangement\.

### Continuing doctor responsibility

Board\-certified orthodontists see every patient, including follow\-ups, with Dr\. Tracy Miao Liang as clinical director\.

### Digital orthodontics with an aligner focus

Full\-service digitally driven orthodontic care includes a clear\-aligner focus\. The approach is individually explained and prescribed\.

### Planning and previews

AI\-assisted planning and illustrative previews help discuss intentions\. A preview is separate from an achieved treatment result\.

### Imaging for a clinical purpose

Low\-dose 3D CBCT is available when clinically indicated\. Imaging and records are confirmed for the individual assessment, rather than assumed to be routine or included\.

### Progress information between visits

Smartphone/iPhone monitoring is standard with braces and aligner plans\. It supports communication and clinical progress review alongside continuing care\.

### Clinical review of issue flags

Remote information can flag a broken bracket or a nontracking aligner\. The clinical team evaluates what needs attention; a flag itself is not a diagnosis\.

### Provider\-support contact access

24/7 provider\-support contact access gives questions a route to the team\. Access does not promise an immediate reply or replace the individual's emergency arrangements\.

### Local fabrication and individual arrangements

In\-house 3D\-printed aligners and same\-day aligner/retainer options are available through individual arrangements\. They do not apply automatically to every person or appliance\.

### Doctor\-led course correction

Prescribed home course\-correction shipments and doctor\-led Rescue aligner care after previous treatment are individually arranged\.

### A separate bracket production route

Custom 3D\-printed brackets are manufactured off\-site, separately from local aligner and retainer fabrication\.

### A prescribed system and wear plan

Invisalign®, OrthoFX®, AirFlex™ and nighttime options are available within individually prescribed care\. The orthodontist chooses the system and wear plan; availability is not personal eligibility\.

### Retainers and whitening in the proposal

Included fixed/removable retainers plus whitening belong in the written proposal, which confirms scope and the individual's prescribed arrangements\.

### A separate colour goal

At\-home and in\-office whitening are available for a colour goal\. Suitability and arrangements are individual; availability does not mean both methods are supplied to everyone\.

## Source and adaptation

Adapted by SMILE\-FX® from Serena Ravera, Tommaso Castroflorio, Francesco Garino, Sam Daher, Giovanni Cugliari and Andrea Deregibus, Maxillary molar distalization with aligners in adult patients: a multicenter retrospective study , Progress in Orthodontics , 2016;17:12, published 18 April 2016\. [Original article and DOI 10\.1186/s40510\-016\-0126\-0](<https://doi.org/10.1186/s40510-016-0126-0>) · [CC BY 4\.0](<https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/>) \. © Ravera et al\. 2016\.

Selected author narrative simplified and reorganized; an original supplied\-description explanation added\. Reference does not imply endorsement\.

This was a retrospective study of 20 selected adults treated with Invisalign® aligners\. Whole\-treatment lateral headfilms assessed upper\-molar crown and axis positions\. The design did not isolate a distalization phase, and it does not establish an individual response or usable space\.

Reported wear and timepoint details are inconsistent, compliance information was incomplete, and aligner and elastic contributions were not separately established\. Two authors disclosed earlier lectures for Align Technology; the authors reported no company financial or technical support for the study\.
